Here's a dragon uchikake I designed a while back. You see I'd had all this old green velvet in my possession that would have been perfect for it. I was going to make it into a beautiful outfit for the oiran cosplay I'm working on for Anime North 2008. My plan was to do something similar to kin-koma embroidery for the dragon. Basically I'd sew gold ribbons down to create the pattern, so you have to imagine that dragon embossed entirely in gold.
I actually started unpicking the fabric from its original state as drappery to prepare it for this kimono, but it was so unbelievably dusty that I actually developed bronchitis from working on it. It's been about 5 months and my lungs still aren't fully clear despite antibiotics and everything - so suffice it to say, I'm not touching that fabric with a ten foot pole now.
Awww, that's sad-this would've been an absolutely stunning design with green and gold! If I knew what to do with it I'd offer to help just to see it done. I'm sorry!
I love the design. It's too bad about the bronchitis though. I know how bad that can be. 5 months you've had it? Wow. You might want to check with your doctor to make sure it hasn't turned into pneumonia. Bronchitis has a tendancy to do that. Hope you get better.
Oh, and I have to say that a lot of your designs are even prettier than the ones I saw in Japan.
Aww, man, I am so sorry to hear that you developed bronchitis from working on it! D: Of course it's a shame this beautiful plan cannot be done right now on your beautiful green velvet, but I just hope you're alright now. That's the most important thing.
