Well, I finally managed to get a good quality photograph of this piece, so I thought I'd re-upload it. I love that you can see the texture of the birch bark so much better on this version.
When I saw this beautiful piece of birch bark lying on the ground, I knew I must draw something on it. I kept it for quite some time, until I decided on what I should draw. It was a portrait of a wolf with the moon and red-woods. When deciding on a title, somone mentioned to me that it looked like the wolf was part of the Aurora Borealis - that it looked like a Spirit Wolf. And so I titled it.
