Spring Ensemble

Recently I've been working on an illustration detailing all the accessories required to wear kimono properly. For it I basically created this paper doll sort of drawing and showed her in different states of undress. This is meant to show how all the accessories are used. On the plus side, this means I basically got to design an entire kimono ensemble from the underwear out! LOL! Anyways, these images are actually shrunk down pretty small on the full illustration - and I put a lot of work into them, so I thought I'd show them off a bit on their own. I chose the three with the most design work on them to show here.

The first one displays a juban (under kimono) decorated in peonies with a han'eri (decorative collar) of running water and falling flowers. The susoyoke (under skirt) has running water and irises along the hem. The other two show a front and back view of a furisode I designed. It's covered in water, lilies and butterflies. She's also wearing an obi decorated with peonies.
