Prayer to Saint Michael:
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle be our safeguard against the wiles and wickedness of the devil, restrain him, O God, we humbly pray and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. My previous St. Michael piece "St. Michael Prince of Angels" has been one of my tried and true for a good many years, but it's starting to show its age. So, I've prepared a brand new one here. This is one of my favourite modes of depiction for St. Michael; on the brink of destroying a dragon or demon. This version is completed in the manner I had originally hoped "St. Michael Prince of Angels" had been. The colouring was added almost entirely by brush save for some small details. I truly cannot tell you how many hours went into this piece. I've been working on it on and off since May. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy it.
