Artist's Comments

''The child watched the earth open up before him and saw his friend laid to rest within. Suddenly, he felt so alone even though he was surrounded by people. If only he had known that through everything The Spirit had stood beside him and it was only the limitations of his mortal heart that kept him from that knowledge.
Arcturus found himself reciting the funerary verses and he came across the words that had once brought him such enlightenment.
''DEATH WHERE IS THY STING!? DEATH WHERE IS THY VICTORY!?'' Arcturus announced. Once again, he knew their power but found himself unable to feel it. As the words rang from Arcturus's mouth, they seemed to resound in a world beyond him; a world he almost could not hear. And the reality of that moment simply could not sink in.''

The words in bold italics are taken from the Bible: 1 Corinthians 15:55

This is an illustration for chapter 14 of 'The Lone Wild Heart' the story which I have been posting here.

Umm.... I give it a rousing WOW! I love the dress, the rocks, the hair... ummm... everything! Just one question, is the bit of writing up in the corner the same as what's in the description box? I can't quite read it, maybe I need new contacts, or my friend's computer whose entire bedroom wall is his monitor... betcha I could read it then! Oh yeah, and I love the depth too! I'm jealous, I wanna be that good!

Thanx! The writing in the piece are both biblical passages. There is the one "Death where is thy sting? Death where is thy victory?" 1 Corinthians 15:55. And "Then it shall be brought to pass, the saying that is written; and death shall be swallowed up in victory" I have to check the exact verse numbers for that, but I believe its also from 1 Corinthians.
